Ryan Collins brings a proven leg and clean-ball consistency to SMU
In the 2024 season at Cal Poly, Ryan Collins averaged 43.1 yards per punt over 45 punts, with a long of 60 yards, 13 punts inside the 20, and no blocks allowed—good signs for a transfer punter who can flip field position without drama. At 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds, he brings NFL-ish size, veteran composure, and a track record of landing touchbacks while avoiding the costly mistakes that drive coaches nuts. If SMU wanted a steady specialist with real leg strength and enough touch to be trusted in tight games, Collins looks like a strong fit.
