Winthrop’s Bryson Steele is a high-upside freshman arm with multi-sport toughness
Bryson Steele, a 2026 right-handed pitcher at Winthrop, is a freshman from Lexington, South Carolina, listed at 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds, with a background that includes football, baseball, and basketball—exactly the kind of competitive base coaches love. Public roster info shows no college stats yet, so the appeal is projection: a young arm with athleticism, physical upside, and the makeup to develop into a real bullpen or rotation piece. If you want a pitcher who brings upside more than a stat sheet, Steele is one to watch.
