Alabama State’s experienced DB with proven SWAC pedigree
Melvin Screen stands out as a battle-tested defensive back with real SWAC-level credibility, including recognition as an all-conference DB in 2004 and game-day production in championship settings. The big draw is his defensive back instincts and physicality at the point of attack, which helped him earn mention among the league’s top defensive backs in season-recognition coverage. If you’re evaluating fit, he profiles as a player who brings toughness, positional familiarity, and competitive edge — the kind of DB who can stabilize a secondary and won’t blink when the lights get bright.
