Trey Beard brought strikeout heat and front-line poise to FSU in 2026
Beard arrived at Florida State in 2026 as a transfer from FAU and quickly looked the part of a Sunday ace: in the 2026 season, he posted a 6-1 record with a 3.59 ERA over 77 2/3 innings and piled up 123 strikeouts, with a 14-strikeout shutout gem at Wake Forest earning ACC Pitcher of the Week honors. He stands out for a low-hit profile, swing-and-miss stuff, and a deceptive left-handed mix that analysts praised as rotation-stabilizing. If you want a lefty who can miss bats and set the tone, he’s your guy.
