UMBC's 6-0 Forward with High School Accolades, Limited College Impact
Kayla Hinderlie, a 6-0 forward from Edmund Burke School (Class of 2016), arrived at UMBC with buzz from honors like Honorable Mention All-Region, PVAC Player of the Year, and 1st Team All-Conference, plus standout showings at Blue Star events. As a freshman in 2016-17, she appeared in just seven games for the Retrievers, grabbing two rebounds vs. UMass Lowell—suggesting raw size and potential but adaptation struggles at the D1 level. No recent stats post-2017; likely transferred or stepped away, making her a high-risk developmental prospect for teams seeking versatile forwards with proven HS intensity over college polish.
