Ernest Jones brings veteran linebacker instincts and production to NC State
In the 2026 season, Ernest Jones profiles as a high-floor linebacker whose best traits are tackling reliability, play recognition, and steady coverage impact rather than flash. At 6-foot-2 and 233 pounds, he has long been viewed as a sturdy, physical defender who can rack up stops and make the middle of the field less fun for everyone else. The main question for a fit is whether NC State wants a disciplined, NFL-ready tone-setter who plays with control and consistency — because that is his jam.
