Brian Mauthe brings old-school linebacker pedigree to Holy Cross
Brian Mauthe has the profile of a physical, high-IQ linebacker prospect rather than a box-score superstar: Holy Cross lists him as a 6-0, 222-pound linebacker, and his background includes 190 career high school tackles, 23 tackles for loss, and 15 sacks, which signals real downhill instincts and playmaking upside. He also came from a leadership-heavy prep resume, serving as class president, and Holy Cross featured him in an “Off The Field” piece that suggests a composed, thoughtful personality. For a team, he looks like a tone-setter who fits best in a disciplined defense that values toughness, communication, and reliability.
