Rim-Protecting Pacific Big Who Still Shows Up on the Defensive Ledger
Namdi Okonkwo is best known as a true defensive anchor for Pacific: in the 2017–18 season he was named WCC Defensive Player of the Year and led the conference with 2.58 blocks per game, finishing with 80 blocks overall, still one of the program’s top single-season rim-protection marks. He also gave Pacific a steady interior presence with 5.2 points and 4.7 rebounds per game that season. If your team needs length, shot-blocking, and a center who can change the geometry of the paint, he fits the bill—think defense-first, not flash-first.
