Samford RB Jeremiaha Gates brings dual-threat value and steady backup production
Jeremiaha Gates is a useful all-purpose back for Samford, coming off a 2024 season in which he appeared in all 11 games and produced 194 rushing yards, 1 rushing touchdown, and 187 receiving yards on 19 catches as a backup runner. His differentiator is balance: he can contribute as a runner and outlet receiver, which makes him more than just a change-of-pace back and gives an offense flexibility on passing downs. He profiles as a reliable depth piece with versatility rather than a volume-driven feature back.
