Alabama State LB Darius Whitehurst brings proven tackling production and active backfield pressure
Whitehurst has shown he can be a reliable rotational linebacker, recording 7 tackles and 1 quarterback hurry in 4 games for Alabama State in the 2021 season, including a season-high 4 tackles against Mississippi Valley State.[8] He also logged 3 solo tackles in ESPN’s stat line, reinforcing that he can finish plays rather than just be around them.[1] The key appeal is his game activity and straight-line effort as a physical, assignment-conscious defender; the main unknown is that publicly available recent production is limited, so he profiles best as a depth or developmental fit unless your staff is comfortable betting on upside and toughness over a long résumé.[1][8]
