Kansas guard prospect with local ties, but limited public evaluation
Kregg Schmidt is listed by 247Sports as an offensive guard from Garden City, Kansas, at 6-foot-3 and 260 pounds, which gives him a compact frame for an interior lineman.[1] Publicly available scouting detail is very thin, so the main takeaway is projection rather than proven production: he appears to be a developmental fit for a program that values size, local recruiting, and line depth. For a team, the appeal is upside and familiarity with Kansas talent pipelines more than a stat sheet; the risk is that there is not enough public evidence yet to judge polish, power, or consistency.[1]
