Doni Phelps brings veteran size and interior toughness to Illinois State’s defensive line
Phelps is an Illinois State defensive tackle whose value starts with positional fit: he’s listed as a senior 6-1, 290-pound lineman, which points to a sturdy interior build suited for absorbing blocks and holding the point of attack.[7][3] Publicly available profile data is limited, so the clearest signal is his long-tenured presence on the Redbirds roster rather than eye-popping stat production.[7][3] If you want a dependable, inside DL body who can add depth, experience, and physicality, he looks like a practical fit; if you need a flashy pass-rush headline, the public data doesn’t show that yet.[7][3]
