Marshall's Rising Freshman RHP with Zero-Run Dominance and Loose Arm Action
A.J. McAninch, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound right-handed pitcher for the Marshall Thundering Herd, made an immediate impact as a 2025 freshman by pitching five innings across six games with zero runs allowed and four strikeouts, showcasing a clean, loose arm action and a high ¾ arm angle that differentiates him from typical college RHPs [4][9]. His prep background at Bishop Watterson (OH) highlights solid mound presence and intensity, while his current status as a junior in the 2027 roster suggests rapid development and reliability [6]. With no injury history reported and a profile built on efficiency and control, McAninch is an ideal fit for teams seeking a young, high-intensity pitcher with pro-ready mechanics and a track record of shutting out opponents early in his collegiate career [4][9].
