Matthew DelVecchio brings veteran depth and strike-throwing upside to FIU’s staff
In the 2026 season, Matthew DelVecchio has worked as a useful senior right-hander for FIU, appearing in seven games with two starts and logging 9 innings with 5 strikeouts, while also flashing a strong opening outing with two scoreless innings in his FIU debut and later another two-inning scoreless start against FAU.[1][4][11] He looks like a sturdy, experience-driven arm more than a flamethrower: FIU’s own coverage shows the staff has trusted him in multiple roles, and his twin-brother baseball background adds a little extra “pitching pedigree” flair to the profile.[1][10]
