a steady, all-around guard with proven scoring punch
Greg Avery arrived at Western Carolina as a 6-3 guard after a high-school career that showcased real two-way production: in his senior season at Newark (2008), he averaged 18.9 points, 8.6 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game while helping his team go 24-4. That kind of stat line suggests a versatile, compete-every-possession player who can score, rebound and facilitate rather than just hunt shots. For a program looking for toughness, balance and leadership from the backcourt, Avery profiles as a solid fit.
