Austin Shirley brings veteran depth and a blue-collar edge to Coastal Carolina’s linebacker room
Austin Shirley is a redshirt senior linebacker at Coastal Carolina, listed at 215 pounds, and his value is less about flash than trust: he brings experience, maturity, and a grind-it-out mentality that coaches usually love in the middle of a defense. The roster/profile notes his multi-year college background, Dean’s List academics, and South Carolina National Guard service, which points to discipline and resilience—traits that matter when you want a reliable, accountable fit in the room. He looks more like a steady stabilizer than a headline-grabbing stat monster.
