Abbi Perkins brings veteran power and catcher presence to UAB
Abbi Perkins is a **graduate-student catcher** at UAB who adds experienced depth behind the plate and real middle-of-the-order pop after a standout high school career that included a .404 average, 43 doubles, and 17 home runs. UAB lists her at **5-10** and notes her as a catcher, while the roster context suggests she fits as a mature, proven bat with run-production upside rather than a pure stats-only profile. For a team, the appeal is her combination of **experience, power, and defensive value at catcher**—a premium position where toughness and game management matter as much as hitting. [2][3]
