promising EWU DB with upside in a defense that needs playmakers
Dehonta Hayes is a name to watch at Eastern Washington because he profiles as a defensive back in a program that regularly asks its secondary to handle a lot of responsibility, and ESPN lists him on the Eagles’ roster with current player coverage. While the available public data here does not provide detailed recent individual stats, his value comes from the DB traits that matter most in the Big Sky: coverage range, tackling reliability, and the ability to stay composed in space. For a team looking for a high-upside, scheme-flexible defensive back, Hayes is worth a closer look.
