Luke Elward brings size, strike-throwing upside, and proven high-school run prevention to LMU’s rotation mix
In his 2023-24 high school season at El Segundo, Luke Elward posted a 3.36 ERA across 41.2 innings with 50 strikeouts and 3 wins, showing a solid combination of innings durability and bat-missing ability. At 6-foot-3 and 192 pounds, the right-hander has the frame college staffs love for long-term development, and LMU’s roster notes say he earned varsity letters as a junior and senior and was named all-league/conference. He looks like a steady, projectable arm who could fit well for a staff seeking strike-throwing depth and growth potential.
