Depth WR with in-state upside at South Carolina
DeAngelo Smith is a South Carolina wide receiver with local ties and developmental upside, listed on the Gamecocks roster as a 6-foot-1, 196-pound WR from Charleston, S.C.[1] The most useful takeaway is that he profiles more as a depth/rotation option than a headline producer right now, with his appeal coming from fit, athletic frame, and familiarity with the program rather than proven volume; ESPN’s profile shows limited production to date (6 catches, 69 yards, 1 TD).[7] If you want a physically plausible, under-the-radar receiver who could grow into a useful role, he’s worth monitoring, but he is not yet a locked-in impact starter.[1][7]
