Stetson Freshman Cade Centracchio: High-Intensity Middle Infielder Entering Transfer Portal After .286 BA Debut
Cade Centracchio, a 6'1", 185lb right-handed freshman infielder for the Stetson Hatters, delivered a solid debut in the 2026 season with a .286 batting average, 14 hits, and 10 runs scored across 19 games (16 starts) primarily in the middle infield[2][5]. His differentiator is his **high-intensity, all-out playing style** and **versatility** (capable at SS, 2B, and 3B), backed by a max exit velocity of 79.2 mph in pre-college evaluations that suggests developing power potential[6][9]. While his .773 OPS and 3 RBI show he's a reliable contact hitter rather than a power threat, his **10 runs scored** highlight elite baserunning instincts and aggression[1][2]. Crucially, Centracchio has **entered the Transfer Portal** after his freshman year, signaling ambition for a higher-level opportunity[7]. He is a **great fit for teams needing a gritty, versatile middle-infield backup** with room to grow, though not a primary power hitter; his intensity and defensive flexibility make him a valuable roster piece for clubs prioritizing hustle and adaptability over raw slug power.
