Drake's 2017 DB Standout with Elite Ball Skills
Kyrell Newell, a 5-9 defensive back for the Drake Bulldogs, earned 2017 All-PFL Honorable Mention after leading the team with nine pass breakups, 31 tackles, and two interceptions—showcasing his fearless, high-motor play style that maximizes his compact frame for big impacts in coverage. A reliable tackler with sharp instincts, he's the kind of gritty, ball-hawking DB who thrives in physical PFL battles; perfect fit for teams needing intense, undersized defenders who punch above their weight.
