VCU's Lightning-Quick Walk-On Hustler
Torey Burston, the 5-10 VCU Rams guard and Richmond native, electrified as a walk-on with his blistering speed, elite on-ball defense, and transition lightning—earning national top-304 steals ranking (3.2 SPG) in high school VISAA. Career college stats are modest (0.3 PPG, 0.3 RPG, 0.3 APG over limited minutes through 2016-17 per ESPN), but his redshirt freshman hustle and bench energy (viral first bucket reaction) make him a differentiator for depth. Care because he's the ultimate gritty underdog; perfect fit for teams needing defensive intensity and practice warriors—no ego, all heart.
