Jay Kakiva brings veteran size, steady production and academic discipline to SJSU’s defensive front
Jay Kakiva is a massive, experienced San Jose State defensive lineman at 6-4, 325 who has shown reliable snap-to-snap toughness, posting 28 solo tackles, 3 sacks and 1 forced fumble in ESPN’s current stat line while also logging 12 appearances and 10 tackles in the 2023 season for the Spartans. He stands out more as a dependable interior body than a flashy playmaker, with multi-year All-Academic recognition underscoring his consistency and professionalism. If you need a physically imposing DL who can eat blocks, stay assignment-sound and add maturity to a room, he fits that profile well.[1][2][4]
