Delvin Welch brings veteran size to Southern Miss, but current on-field production is unclear
Welch is listed by Southern Miss in 2026 as a 5-foot-10, 239-pound redshirt senior running back, which suggests a compact power build that can help in short-yardage and physical situations[1]. The challenge: the school’s roster page says there are no statistics available for him, so there’s no verified current-season production to evaluate, and that makes his value more about projection, depth, and fit than box-score output[1]. If a team wants a bruising, experienced back with size, he’s interesting; if it needs proven recent production, the evidence is thin[1].
