David Thornton gives North Carolina a proven, high-volume tackling linebacker
David Thornton’s defining trait is production: in the season highlighted by UNC, he led the Tar Heels with 131 total tackles and ranked fourth in the ACC, earning second-team All-ACC honors. That kind of volume points to a linebacker who reads plays well, arrives consistently, and can anchor the middle of a defense. If you want a dependable, high-motor defender who brings toughness and stability rather than just splash plays, Thornton is the kind of fit that raises a unit’s floor.
