Nate Wochner is a high-upside freshman arm with real swing-and-miss stuff
In the 2026 season, BYU freshman right-hander Nate Wochner has flashed upside but also some early-command growing pains: he’s listed at 6-foot-4 from Arvada, Colorado, and has gone 1-1 with a 12.00 ERA over 9.0 innings, striking out 10 while walking 13. He still fits the “why care?” bucket because BYU has used him in pressure spots, and he already picked up a win in a team effort against UC Riverside. The headline trait is arm talent; the question is whether his strike-throwing catches up.
