JJ Sylla brings ball-hawking upside and secondary versatility to CCSU
JJ Sylla is a defensive back worth watching because his value is tied to coverage instincts, playmaking ability, and the kind of versatility coaches want in the secondary rather than flashy box-score volume. Current publicly available team stats do not show him among Central Connecticut State’s 2025 interception leaders, which suggests his impact may be more about assignment discipline, matchup flexibility, and supporting a defense that finished 5-3 and first in the NEC than headline-grabbing numbers. If you need a DB who can help stabilize coverage and fit multiple roles, Sylla is the type of prospect that can quietly raise a defense’s floor.
