JUCO Tackling Machine Lands at ULM, Not UT Martin RB
Marcus Ross, a 6-3, 210-lb linebacker from Bassfield, MS, exploded for 77 tackles, 7 TFL, and 3.5 sacks in 13 games at East Mississippi CC in 2023 (2nd Team All-MACCC), powering them to the NJCAA national title game with a 12-tackle masterpiece in the semis. After a injury-limited redshirt freshman year at Mississippi State in 2024 (just 2 tackles in 1 game), he transferred to ULM in Jan 2025—note: no ties to UT Martin or RB position. His relentless motor, sideline-to-sideline speed, and pass-rush juice make him a disruptive fit for 3-4 defenses; watch for breakout potential in the Sun Belt if he stays healthy.
