Tyler Jones is a reliable, long, active defensive back with playmaking upside
In 2025, Tyler Jones has flashed as an active sophomore defensive back at South Carolina State, posting 17 total tackles with one fumble recovery in limited game action, and his 6'3", 200-pound frame gives him the length and range coaches want on the back end.[1][3] His biggest differentiator is size for the position, which can help him match up with bigger receivers and play physical coverage, but the available stats also suggest he is still early in his development and not yet a proven high-volume playmaker.[1][3]
