Experienced DB with proven tackling chops and playmaking flashes
Jarvis Smith’s profile points to a physical, reliable defensive back with proven production and game-changing upside. In his 2011 season at Wingate, he finished second on the team with 71 tackles, added a forced fumble, an interception, and even returned a missed field goal 80 yards for a touchdown — the kind of “show up everywhere” résumé coaches love. He also earned a starting role early, which usually says plenty about trust and football IQ. If Alcorn State is looking for a DB who brings grit, range, and special-teams value, Smith fits the mold nicely.
