veteran Samford linebacker with a tackle-first pedigree
Clay Buchweitz brings proven linebacker bloodlines and a blue-collar tackling profile: at Fellowship Christian School, he was an All-Region defender with 82 tackles as a junior and 60 tackles as a senior, including 18 solo stops. Samford’s roster lists him at 6'0", 229 pounds as a sophomore in 2018, but publicly available Samford stat pages show no recorded college game stats in the seasons surfaced, so the appeal is less box-score flash and more potential depth, toughness, and special-teams value for a program that likes rugged, assignment-sound defenders.
