Luke Slater is Sacramento State’s versatile young trench piece with special-teams grit
In the 2025 season, Luke Slater played in the first 11 games, starting the year as an offensive lineman before moving to tight end, where he worked mainly as a blocking TE and on special teams; that kind of flexibility is gold for a roster. The 2026 Sacramento State roster lists him as a redshirt freshman offensive lineman at 6-foot-2 and 271 pounds, and his background as a two-star recruit who played both sides of the ball in high school suggests toughness, adaptability, and a physical edge more than flash.
