Vili Haapsalo brings intriguing NFL-style size to UAB’s tight end room
At 6-foot-6 and 230 pounds, the 2026 freshman from Finland is an interesting long-term piece for UAB’s offense, but he entered the season with no listed college stats or game logs yet, so the appeal is projection, not production. His biggest differentiator is rare frame and developmental upside for a young TE, which can matter a lot if a staff wants a big catch-radius target who can grow into the role. Right now, he looks more like a high-upside bet than an immediate-stat-sheet star.
