veteran UCLA OL and culture-setter with rare international trailblazer status
Shojima is best known as a hardworking UCLA offensive lineman whose value goes beyond snaps: he was a reserve center/special-teams contributor at UCLA and a former Santa Monica College captain, giving him a reputation for reliability, leadership, and versatility on the interior line. UCLA’s roster lists him at 6-1, 290 pounds, and earlier reporting highlighted him as the first Japanese-born player of full Japanese heritage to appear in an FBS game, which adds a notable resilience-and-pioneer angle to his profile. He fits best as a depth, culture, and experience add rather than a headline star.
