Power-armed YSU junior starting to earn leverage innings
In the 2026 season, Mikey Rodriques has worked as a junior right-handed pitcher for Youngstown State, making 11 appearances and five starts while striking out 19 batters in 17 innings, and he also picked up a save on May 15 against Wright State[1][3][11]. The big appeal is his versatility: he’s been used as both a starter and a reliever, and his size (6-foot-1, 200 pounds) plus right-handed delivery gives him a classic durable bullpen/starter look[1][4]. He’s not overpowering the box score yet, but his usage says the staff trusts him in multiple roles—and that’s usually where a fit gets interesting.
