experienced NIU linebacker with an early-career Chicago pedigree
Joe Bonds is a Northern Illinois linebacker with a long runway of college experience, having redshirted after playing four games as a true freshman in 2018 and then carrying a listed frame of 6-foot-2, 215 pounds for the Huskies’ roster build. His appeal is the classic linebacker blend NIU values: local toughness, positional versatility, and a body that fits downhill defense. Publicly available stat pages don’t show a recent full production breakout, so the best read is that he’s more of a depth-and-development fit than a headline-grabbing stat monster right now.
