Army’s 290-pound interior disruptor is starting to carve out a role
Matt Gemma is a 6-foot-1, 290-pound sophomore defensive lineman for Army who has already flashed real interior punch: in the 2025 season, he played in six games, logged a tackle for loss against North Texas, and added a tackle at East Carolina. He brings the classic Army D-line profile—compact power, leverage, and physicality—with a strong recruiting pedigree from Delbarton and USMAPS, plus All-American and all-state honors coming in. The upside here is obvious: a tough, growing trench player who can fit a physical defense and keep getting harder to move.
