veteran UCF safety with ball-hawking instincts and run-support pop
In the 2008 season, Jason Venson was a reliable, physical safety for UCF, finishing second on the team with 94 tackles and adding three interceptions, which tells you he was both a clean-up tackler and a playmaker in coverage.[7] Across his UCF career, he piled up 322 tackles and 239 solo stops, a sign of consistency, toughness, and strong diagnostic ability in the back end.[1][12] He did miss time early in his career because of a knee injury, but when healthy he brought a sturdy, old-school safety presence that coaches love: assertive versus the run, alert in coverage, and not shy about making momentum-shifting plays.[6][11]
