Matt Shiel brings elite FCS field-position value as Mercer’s punter
Matt Shiel stood out at Mercer as a top-end **field-position weapon**, helping drive the FCS’s best **net punting average** at 40.58 yards per punt in his final collegiate season and earning recognition as one of the nation’s better FCS punters. He matters because he can flip the field, not just kick long, and that kind of hidden-yardage impact is exactly what good teams value in close games. If your team wants a steady specialist who can help win the territory battle, Shiel is a strong fit.
