the Bengals’ next-backup breakout?
George Barnes is listed with Idaho State football at running back, but the available 2025-26 public stat tables and team leader pages highlight Dason Brooks as the Bengals’ featured rush threat, so Barnes appears to be more of a depth-piece or emerging contributor right now. That usually means the key questions are upside, durability, and special-teams value rather than raw volume. If Barnes flashes burst, contact balance, and pass protection in camp, he could be a sneaky fit; if not, he reads more like a developmental option than an immediate impact starter.
