Julian Reed brings veteran DB chops and academic steadiness to Cal Poly
Julian Reed is a savvy, experienced defensive back for Cal Poly, with the kind of profile coaches love: he earned first-team all-conference honors in junior college after posting 11 tackles and 2 interceptions in 8 games in 2019, then opened his Cal Poly run with 3 solo tackles in his first 2020 starts before earning Big Sky All-Academic recognition in 2021. He also stood out as a track athlete in high school, which hints at speed and competitiveness—useful traits for a DB who can stick in coverage and bring an edge.
