long, physical NIU corner with proven NFL-caliber instincts
Rashaan Melvin is a **former Northern Illinois cornerback** whose game stood out for **size, physicality, and playmaking instincts**, and his NIU career included a season with **55 tackles and 39 solo stops** in all 12 games. His profile suggests a defender who competes hard at the catch point and brings experience-based composure, which is why he translated to the NFL after going undrafted. For a team, he fits best if you want a **tough, assignment-sound defensive back** who can handle contact and bring veteran-level understanding to the secondary.
