Robert Young brings a compact, disruptive frame to Akron's defensive line
Young is a 5-foot-11, 249-pound junior DL from Akron who gives the Zips a local, high-motor interior presence, but publicly available stat lines are thin, so his value appears to be more about role and traits than production right now.[3][1] At his size, he profiles as a leverage-driven run defender who can help set the edge and bring energy, which makes him the kind of fit coaches often like for toughness and rotational depth. If you want a proven stat-stuffer, the evidence isn't there yet; if you want a short-area, effort-first lineman with hometown ties and room to grow, he is worth a closer look.[3][1]
