Trevon Smith brings veteran versatility and run support to SFA's back end
Trevon Smith is a seasoned Stephen F. Austin defensive back whose game is built on physicality, tackling, and multi-phase value rather than flash. In the 2016 season, he appeared in all 11 games with one start at cornerback, posted 22 total tackles, 3 tackles for loss, 3 pass breakups, and ranked third in the Southland Conference with 23.8 kickoff-return yards per attempt. That kind of do-everything profile is exactly what coaches love: dependable, aggressive, and willing to contribute on defense and special teams. If you need a steady, high-effort safety/corner hybrid who can help tilt field position, he fits nicely.
