Gena Lenti was a high-IQ, two-sport DePaul spark plug with elite academics
Gena Lenti’s DePaul basketball stint was brief but memorable: in the 2012-13 season, the Chicago guard appeared in 7 games, averaged 5.0 minutes, and hit a 3-pointer in a season-high 20 minutes against Seton Hall. What made her stand out wasn’t volume—it was versatility, toughness, and the rare ability to jump in as a walk-on while balancing softball too. She was also a standout academic, earning DePaul’s Shirley Becker Academic Award and later graduating with a 4.0 GPA, so she fits the profile of a reliable, coachable, ultra-competitive teammate.
