high-motor, playmaking linebacker with proven Big 12 production
In the 2017 season, Chad Whitener was a dependable Oklahoma State linebacker who had already stacked up major production: 93 tackles in 2015 and 71 in 2016, plus 7.5 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, two interceptions, and a forced fumble in 2015, and 13 tackles against No. 10 West Virginia and 11 against No. 7 Oklahoma in 2016. He stands out for his instincts, downhill physicality, and knack for showing up in big games, while his academic honors and defensive leadership suggest a steady, mature presence. If you want a tone-setter who brings toughness and consistency, he fits the bill.
