Matthew Totten is a big-bodied freshman arm trying to carve out a role for the Bison
In the 2026 season, Matthew Totten has made two starts for North Dakota State, striking out two batters over 4.0 innings in his Bison debut year, with appearances at South Florida and Nebraska showing he’s being tested early. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound right-hander brings size, a starter’s build, and a track record of leadership from Prior Lake HS, where he was a three-time letterwinner and team captain; he also ranked among Minnesota’s top 10 players in his class as of May 2023. He looks like a developmental fit for a staff that values upside, toughness, and room to grow.
