Champ Stewart brings veteran edge to Samford’s defensive line
Champ Stewart is a depth-and-experience DL piece for Samford, with a roster presence that suggests a player valued more for role reliability and trench toughness than headline stats. Samford’s 2025 defense struggled overall, so a lineman who can hold gaps, stay assignment-sound, and bring steady effort matters more than ever. He looks like a fit if your team wants a physical, coachable interior defender who can contribute in a system that prizes discipline and effort over flash.
