Mason Fields brings prototype size and homegrown upside to Louisville’s QB room
In the 2026 season, freshman Mason Fields is a 6-foot-4, 215-pound Louisville quarterback from Dixie Heights who arrives with real arm-talent intrigue and a strong local pedigree, including a senior year at Dixie Heights with 2,669 passing yards and 28 touchdowns plus school-record 408-yard and 7-TD games. He’s a developmental fit more than a finished product, but the physical profile, hometown familiarity, and room to grow make him a classic upside swing for the Cardinals.
